fglrx ATI driver

Has anybody had success with the fglrx driver?
I had some difficulty building it since the qt33 port
is hiccupping and this build tries to add a KDE icon -
but I don't use KDE.

doing:
X -configure
gives a bunch of lines that say...
Symbol firegl_PM4Alloc from module
/usr/X11R6/lib/modules/drivers/fglrx_drv.o is
unresolved!

My graphics device is detected as:
"RC410 [Radeon Xpress 200M]"

BusID is "PCI:1:5:0"

running FBSD current on Toshiba A105-S301 laptop.
