Thanks! It works for me, I can now see the plugin : 

[nicblais] /usr/local/jdk1.5.0/jre/plugin/i386/ns7# ll
total 142

[nicblais] /usr/local/jdk1.5.0/jre/plugin/i386/ns7# md5 libjavaplugin_oji.so
MD5 (libjavaplugin_oji.so) = 0ea5cae833aaae70e955cd5e518106ee

and in about:plugins
Java(TM) Plug-in 1.5.0-p2-root_20_sep_2005_21_42

    File name: libjavaplugin_oji.so
    Java(TM) Plug-in 1.5.

and it works great so far (well at least speedtest.cogeco.net).

The port should probably be fixed to make that symbolic link.
