Can't load kernel errors (with wierd bios messages)

Just for the archives, I have tracked down why this happens but am not
completely sure of the cause.   Somehow loader.rc was over 2 megs in
size.  After trimming the file back down to size and adding back the
necessary bits everything works fine.   Very strange.
