This is a little bit off-topic, but I set the rc.conf(5) dumpdev
variable to "AUTO". This should work (this is from rc.d/dumpon) :
%%%
case ${dumpdev} in
[Nn][Oo] | '')
;;
[Aa][Uu][Tt][Oo])
while read dev mp type more ; do
[ "${type}" = "swap" ] || continue
[ -c "${dev}" ] || continue
if /sbin/dumpon -v "${dev}" 2>/dev/null; then
# Make a symlink in devfs for savecore
ln -s ${dev} /dev/dumpdev
return 0
fi
done </etc/fstab
%%%
Nevertheless, when my box panices, it drops to DDB and I always need to
call doadump() manually.
Regards,
