Crash after: discard frame without packet header

i had a machine lock up dead with

    Jan  5 12:21:39 foo kernel: fxp0: discard frame w/o packet header

as it locked solid and left no crash dump, i can not be of much
help.  i am monitoring its console in case it happens again.
