Well, I haven't been able to actually run the driver through any tests,
yet, as my soundcard is not (yet) one of the supported ones. But it
does compile OK, and as I mentioned before, I know of at least one
person who reported successful MIDI playback via his external MIDI synth
keyboard.

I'm hoping Mat will be able to add es137x support soon, so I can
actually see how well this thing will work. I'm fairly optimistic at
this point; it's just a matter of copying/adapting the patches for other
cards into the es137x files.

I couldn't tell you for sure which FreeBSD release will be the one to
announce the addition of MIDI, but I do think 6.0 could very well
possibly be it, with additional backpatching into 5.x-STABLE as well.

By the way, what kind of Yamaha synth do you have? Mine is an SO3. I
can hardly wait to be able to use it under FreeBSD!
