COMPAT4X and 5.x ... how backwards compatible?

About the only thing that usually doesn't work when you update the OS
are binaries that use libkvm, including ps.

For the package builds, I use a 4.x chroot with a few select binaries
and support libraries copied in from the 5.x host.
