Unable to build java/jdk12 on 5.2-RELEASE?

On a 5.2-REL machine, I seem to be unable to build jdk12. The
newly-compiled javac segfaults at once:

gmake[4]: `../../classes/sun/tools/javac/resources/javac_ja.properties' is up to date.

Did anyone succeed in building that port recently?
