Aligning GENERIC with NOTES?

what i am really missing in our kernel configuration file is a better documentation
of dependencies. everytime i start making GENERIC to fit my machine i run into build
errors which result into "hey i have this build error" - "oh, you need xyz module",
which is quite annoying.

just my 2cents.
