Dlink 690TXD 'hangs' with "discard oversize frame"

It appears something is generating bad packets. Have you tried replacing
the cable and trying a different switch port, or entire switch?

The hang is kinda nasty, but your switch shouldn't be generating bad
packets.  The hangs may just be how poorly the rl reacts to problematic
links.
