FreeBSD 4.8-RELEASE (mini iso) running on a pentium-pro i386 133mhz, 1.2GB hdd
ide0, 2.0Gb hdd ide1 same physical type hdd. minimum possible install.
48mb swap, 128mb /, 256mb /var, 256mb /tmp, 512mb /usr (ide0)
following the handbook i attempted to use /stand/sysinstall to disklabel & newf
s ide1 but received the following errors.

nothing wrong with the hardware by the way i've tried both the hdd's on other o
perating systems and they're fine.
