At the moment I don't have xmms installed, but I tried esdplay and also
mplayer (without esd running).  Neither worked.

I don't know -- I installed yesterday and cvsupped immediately (wireless
requirements).

I've loaded that and I receive:

sio1: configured irq 3 not in bitmap of probed irqs 0
sio1: port may not be enabled

mixer still does not show speaker and not much seems to have changed.
