xscreensaver bug?

It is not a bug, but rather a feature of xscreensaver. It has (to the
best of my knowledge) nothing to do with FreeBSD. If you install
xscreensaver on Linux, or some other platform, it will probably allow
you to unlock the screen with the root password there too.
