After a sup this afternoon, the good news is that my box doesn't instantly 
panic while loading init.
The bad news is that this is because it can't find init, because it can't 
mount the root. :-)

This is with a complete stock GENERIC kernel, make.conf, etc.  (I reverted 
while debugging the -other- problem.)

The partition mounts just peachily from the live filesystem CD.  It's a UFS1 
partition, if it's relevant.

Strikes me as an 'oops.' :-)
