5.2 failed to run in VMWARE and vrtualpc

I believe that enabling SMP is a great gain for us, and the VMware
users are much much fewer than SMP users :-)

I've reported here before, VMware Inc. knows the problem.  They're now
investigating what's the cause.  There's no version that is fixed, but
I hope next release will have a fix.
