Recent pcm/ac97 commit breaks all the glass in my house

As another side note, the "mixer [+-^=]rec <foo>" stuff doesn't
work.  getopt() chokes on the "-rec" versions, and the others
just don't seem to do anything.  The recording source sticks at
"mic" no matter what I do.
