Version 35.0.1916.114 (270117) - Kdialog VERY slow, unusable!

As the subject says I'm having issues with saving or uploading files in
chromium because kidialog seems to be stuck.

the odd thing is that if I run the process from the console I get no issue
kdialog open fine, it warns about me having no smb.conf file and that's
all, it opens right away and so does dophin!

Anyone experiencing this issue?

Also can I change the file picker in chromium somehow?

I get the same on FreeBSD 10 and HEAD
