Darn, I'm really coming up short on this one so far..

You may be right, trying to bring umount(8) into the scene is proving to be
fraught with errors. I'll look into putting the mounttab and moundtab handling
directing in automount.

Out of curiosity, what were the spam errors in /var/log/messages? If they're
gone, don't worry about - just curious.
