I spoke too soon about this patch making it into base. The consensus is that my
approach to fixing the problem with umount(8) is flawed.

Maybe someone else might come up with a version of this patch that will be
acceptable.

Your testing and detailed bug reports are highly appreciated, thanks for your
help.
