/etc/os-release symbolic link isn't created if you upgrade from 12.1-RELEASE to
12.2-BETA2 with regular steps described in /usr/src/Makefile. This problem
doesn't happen if you use freebsd-update. The source is that there no logic to
handle symbolic links in mergemaster. And patch to fix it is submitted as bug
242212.
