It was interrupt 25 that I was thinking of, just give it a buffer and how many
sectors you want and no more int 13 loop dance. but I never was able to get it
to work.

the exact output of the console spam is:
disk0: Read 8 sectors(s) from 304087096 to 0x5ddbc (0x67dbc): 0x4

once the kernel starts the console spam stops. 

sounds like I'll need a serial to serial cable, I'll have a look around.
