Compare with what happens when an msdosfs pen drive is mounted by autofs:

$ mount | tail -n2
map -media on /media1 (autofs)
/dev/da0 on /media1/da0 (msdosfs, asynchronous, local, noatime, nosuid,
automounted)
$ 


The "automounted" option is there all right.
