Installer, step 1

I wanted to to test FreeBSD 12.1, so I setup a VM on my Mac (VmWare Fusion),
with a 256G NVME disk.
I booted of the DISK1 ISO CD, choose Guided Root-on-ZFS partitioning, but could
not select nvd0 disk. see 3 images.
Did I do something wrong, or is there something broken?
