I mean the machine won't boot. That is annoying. 

As for last good revision on this boxen?  Good question
and for that I will need to boot the 11.2 DVD and then
mount the /dev/ada3 ( I think ) and have a look into 
ye /boot and see what I was running. Running well in fact.
