Next scenario:

If I run

iperf -c hal -b 500m,0

i.e., using only 50% of the available bandwidth between the laptop and the
third machine, NFS read performance between the laptop and the second machine
increases to 5..7 MBps, i.e., 50..70% of the available bandwidth of 100 Mbps.

It seems that in this case there is sufficient but not too much activity on em0
in order to optimally talk to the second machine.

Maybe this is a case of lost or stuck interrupts? Or some problems with
handling UDP?
