My guess as to the cause is somewhat supported by the fact that setting
'copies=2' on the ZFS filesystem and reinstalling the kernel seems to mostly
(though I need to manually load opensolaris.ko and zfs.ko, because I haven't
installed two copies of whatever tells loader to load them: without this, I get
to the mountroot prompt and can't mount my root fs).
