Did you have a look at what kind of disk activity there was?
I experienced a very similar issue during my latest scrub: It was hanging but
there was still lots of IOPS on the disks. However, the throughput according to
gstat was only roughly 1MB/s. This is actually more than the throughput shown
by "zpool scrub status" which was down in the KB/s region.
I stopped the scrub, rebooted the machine and restarted scrub and it finished
without problems.
I only experienced this after upgrading to 12.0-RELEASE. I thought it may be
related to the new sequential scrub feature that fails to perform under certain
constraints (e.g., memory pressure) but that wasn't present in 11.2 as far as I
know.
