The kernel sources in that repo are rather old so perhaps your SATA issues is
related to that.

If you tried the modules built from that repo but with newer FreeBSD then
that's probably not going to work. If you copy over sys/dev/virtio and
sys/modules/virtio onto a newer FreeBSD tree, you'll probably have some compile
errors to sort though but it shouldn't be anything major. Sorry, I have not had
the time to rebase that repo yet though.
