I am not sure its frustration, it was kinda funny in a way ;)

I think that this is no longer a problem, I havent noticed increased CPU usage
while using the FAT filesystem.

For future PRs, as FreeBSD Foundation has several paid employees, I would try
make some solution with FreeBSD Foundation to acquire another full time job
person for PRs (or at least half that person time for PRs).

I understand that this is people mostly free time, I also 'do'
beadm/automount/lsblk/HOWTOs/... for free in my free time the same way, thus I
do not have any problem that this PR was not handled or that it was here for 9
years without progress.

I still consider FreeBSD the least suck OS, with HardenedBSD being second in
that list (lack of lib32 by default hurts out of the VirtualBox packages ...).

I just think that such cases as this PR should be a motivator, not demotivator,
for future improvements, to handle them other/better in the future, for the
FreeBSD project as a whole.

Regards,
vermaden
