The PR is *not* about the updater code in the cpuctl module.

It is about the missing initialization in microprocessor detection code in
cpucontrol, which is executed to check whether an update is necessary at all.
Basically it is like using uninitialized variable.

Please re-read the PR carefully, to not misunderstand the problem.
