Summary: The man(1) manual page has no mention about the exit
                    status of the command
           Product: Base System
           Version: CURRENT
          Hardware: Any
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Only Me
          Priority: ---
         Component: bin
          Assignee: freebsd-bugs at FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: wosch at FreeBSD.org

The man(1) manual page has no mention about the exit status of the command.
Nothing.

Here is an copy of the debian man(1) page section, and I wish we would have
something similar in our documentation:

https://www.freebsd.org/cgi/man.cgi?query=man&apropos=0&sektion=0&manpath=Debian+8.1.0&arch=default&format=html#EXIT_STATUS

EXIT STATUS
       0 Successful program execution.
1 Usage, syntax or configuration file error.
       2 Operational error.
       3 A child process returned a non-zero exit status.
16 At least one of the pages/files/keywords didn't exist or wasn't
matched.
