Yes, opening a new ticket would make sense.

So far I have not been able to reproduce the rename failure with a synthetic
test.

To try to determine if it is limited to tmpfs, I've been running poudriere with
tmpfs disabled.  I got a clean run yesterday.  I started it again last night
and sometime during the night gmime26 failed to build properly.  No obvious
errors.  It looks like the compiler just returned a non-zero exit status.  I've
seen this before.  This run should be finished in about an hour.

Too bad you're not running ECC RAM, that would eliminate one potential silent
cause of strange behavior.
