            Bug ID: 224741
Summary: "cu" does not honour "-h" flag for local echo i.e.
                    half-duplex
           Product: Base System
           Version: 10.4-RELEASE
          Hardware: Any
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Many People
          Priority: ---
         Component: bin
          Assignee: freebsd-bugs at FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: dave at horsfall.org

(Likely affects everyone who tries to use it)

Yes, Virginia, some devices still have a serial port...

aneurin% cu -h -l cuau0
can't open log file /var/log/aculog.
Connected
(Tap tap tappity-tap) => nothing echoed, but a response is received e.g. when
typing "MDL<CR>":

MDL,UBCD396XT<CR> (It's a Uniden UBCD396XT trunking radio scanner)

Type "POF" (for power off): no echo, but responds with "POF,OK" and *click* :-)

The serial port works because I can control something plugged into it, but not
having anything echoed back, despite the "-h" flag, makes life a bit difficult.

Hardly a show-stopper I know, but it would be nice if something worked as
documented. No, I don't have source code, as the disk is too small, otherwise
I'd fix it myself and submit a patch.
