Since this behavior seems to be sensitive to the scheduler, I tried SCHED_4BSD.
 Things started out promising, though ghc died with it's usual SIGBUS.  The
chromium build failed due to the compiler temp file rename issue. 
Disappointingly the firefox build failed due to a clang SIGABRT.
