            Bug ID: 206007
Summary: Clean ZFS on root in stripe configuration in MBR
format does not boot after install
           Product: Base System
           Version: 10.2-RELEASE
          Hardware: Any
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Some People
          Priority: ---
         Component: misc
          Assignee: freebsd-bugs at FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: mqudsi at neosmart.net

Problem:

After installing FREEBSD-10.2-RELEASE with guided ZFS-on-root autoconfiguration
in MBR mode, the system does not boot after setup. The bootloader is never
executed, and the system hangs at a static (unblinking) _ after POST.

Expected results:

System boots normally.

Reproduction:

A clean install of 10.2-RELEASE, choosing guided ZFS-on-root during setup,
selecting (the only) two disks for the stripe, and changing the mode away from
GPT to MBR.

Testing environment:

A new virtual machine with two SAS disks selected during setup for the root
vdev. 10.2-RELEASE amd64, booted from ISO image (disc1.iso).

Workaround:

If BIOS does not have a GPT disk bug, the exact, same configuration but keep
the GPT option set will boot.
