            Bug ID: 198149
Summary: [hwpmc] pmcstat -P -t (top mode, process sampling)
                    stops after a while
           Product: Base System
           Version: 11.0-CURRENT
          Hardware: Any
                OS: Any
            Status: New
          Severity: Affects Only Me
          Priority: ---
         Component: kern
          Assignee: freebsd-bugs at FreeBSD.org
          Reporter: adrian at freebsd.org

Hi,

Using pmcstat in top mode with system level sampling works fine, but process
level sampling stops reporting events after a while. A while is typically a
couple of seconds if you're lucky.

This is reproducable on -10 and -HEAD.

To reproduce:

* run something that's very busy - say, nginx with multiple worker processes
* run pmcstat -P CPU_CLK_UNHALTED_CORE -T -w 1 -t <nginx pid>
* wait until it stops providing events.
