Preliminary testing of the patch looks pretty good on the V240.
I first tried just patching the kernel tree on what was 10.2-PRELEASE2.
The patch applied cleanly, and the machine was able to reboot with
that kernel.
I then enabled the ipv6 configuration in /etc/rc.conf, as that seems to
trigger the problem in the majority of cases. I rebooted twice with
that enabled, and had no problems.
I have now checked out the stable/10 branch, applied the patch and my
V240 is currently grinding through a buildworld/buildkernel.
I will install the resulting userland and kernel after the compile finishes,
and report how things go in this bug.
Thanks very much for engineering a solution to this problem!
