Could you try most recent CURRENT amd64 image:
ftp://ftp.freebsd.org/pub/FreeBSD/snapshots/ISO-IMAGES/11.0/

There are a lot of improvements since 10-CURRENT

Does your laptop reachable via ethernet after lockup?
