FreeBSD patata.example.net 9.0-RELEASE-p3 FreeBSD 9.0-RELEASE-p3 #0: Tue Jun 12 02:52:29 UTC 2012     root at amd64-builder.daemonology.net:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/GENERIC  amd64

>Description:
When configuring a wpi interface like:

wlans_wpi0="wlan0"
ifconfig_wlan0="WPA DHCP ssid testwifi country ES"

Fails to load firmware with the following error:

wpi0: fatal firmware error

More info (including card pci id, etc) on this thread:

http://lists.freebsd.org/pipermail/freebsd-stable/2012-October/069949.html

A workaround is configuring the card without "country ES". Works as expected, just
with US channels.
>How-To-Repeat:
Get a WPI card and add the following config to /etc/rc.conf:

wlans_wpi0="wlan0"
ifconfig_wlan0="WPA DHCP ssid testwifi country ES"

Check dmesg and search for:

wpi0: fatal firmware error
