Yup. They're gone except '$ set -o' or '$ set +o' (*not* '$ set') is called or yet another sh(1) is started, which doesn't need such hints. (In plain cat(1) or ee(1) or whatever everything is fine from the start.) Thanks and ciao, --steffen
