FreeBSD mainserver 8.2-RELEASE FreeBSD 8.2-RELEASE #0: Sun Feb 27 12:22:03 EET 2011 root at mainserver:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/mainserver amd64
When exporting a NFSv4 share with "-ro" (readonly) the option gets ignored and the share can be mounted "rw" (readwrite) on the remote machine.

Enable NFSv4 on both the nfs server and the client and define a NFSv4 export with a "-ro" option. Then, on the nfs client, mount the export as "rw".
