>Description:
FreeBSD 8.1 (even 8.2RC3) sysinstall crashes if it cannot detect or configure a network interface.
Moreover, if sysinstall is run during installation the system if forced to reboot after this crash.

FreeBSD 8.1 or 8.2RC3 see my ethernet card but is unable to correctly configure it.
It shows in dmesg with re0 but doesn't appear in ifconfig.

With this configuration sysinstall crashes.

On FreeBSD 9-CURRENT, my ethernet is still not properly configured as in 8.1, but sysinstall doesn't crash anymore.

>How-To-Repeat:
Try to configure the network using sysintall.
