this is weird, from an 
	CPU: Intel Pentium III (999.72-MHz 686-class CPU)
it's working ok, but from
	CPU: Intel(R) Core(TM)2 Duo CPU E6850  @ 3.00GHz (2999.96-MHz 686-class CPU)
it fails.

they both run the same kernel:
