>Description:
Although this PR is concerned with port build failures, it seems to arise from problems in the base system, and not from the port build infrastructure. Also,
it does not seem to be limited to amd64, because I have seen similar problems
on recent 8-CURRENT i386. Sometime in the past several weeks, some change in the
source code of the base system has crippled the port build system when the WRKDIR is a tmpfs. The same problems do not occur with a ufs WRKDIR. In build transcripts, the problem appears to be that many pathnames are corrupted, breaking the build. In a follow-up I will include two gzipped build transcripts, one with a verbose make -d A output, that illustrate the problem. I do not know
the source of the problems, but they are repeatable.
