To submitter: I'm afraid the PR database isn't the place to ask for help
with this problem: the issue appears to be with Gnome, and not FreeBSD.

I'd recommend you email the freebsd-questions at freebsd.org mailing list
with full details of your machine (including the output of "ifconfig -a",
"hostname" and "cat /etc/hosts") where there is more of a chance you will
be able to find help.
