Thanks for that - reading a bit more into it, I have set the following
(based on installed memory: "Physical memory: 2023 MB"):

$ grep -i vm.kmem /boot/loader.conf 
vm.kmem_size=671088640
$

And have rebooted.

Will see how this works out.
