Remko - since this morning I'm running 8.0-CURRENT on the same system.
World and Kernel have been rebuilt - ports are still being updated.=20
I'm afraid the situation is not any different than with 7.0-STABLE. Same
panic still appears. I append the output from dmesg after a verbose boot
below.=20
If it helps at all: the amd64-7.0-LiveCD spits out a number of kernel
traps right after acpi.ko is loaded. It ends up in a really bad shape
and the system needs to be power-cycled. Also, Windows XP did not have
any issues with the Acer, but then that's not what I want to run on it
;-)
