 I can't reproduce this on 6.3 or 7.0. I get following error messages:
 
 tar: Truncated tar archive: Inappropriate file type or format
 tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors.
 
 or
 
 tar: Truncated input file (need to skip X bytes)
 tar: Error exit delayed from previous errors.
 
 Do you think that this PR can be closed?
