FreeBSD laptop.local.bsd 7.0-RC1 FreeBSD 7.0-RC1 #3: Tue Jan  8 18:12:37 CET 2008     root at laptop.local.bsd:/usr/obj/usr/src/sys/ARMADA  i386

Hardware: Notebook compaq Armada E500 with ATI RAGE Mobility P/M AGPx2
>Description:
Dear Sirs,

after updating from 6.2-RELEASE to 7.0-RC1 through "major update script" from (http://www.daemonology.net/freebsd-update/freebsd-update-upgrade.tgz), and after install own kernel with "device drm" and "device mach64drm" enabled. I found in console messages after exit from X message:
(EE) ATI(0): [dri] ATIDRIScreenInit failed because of a version mismatch.
[dri] mach64.o kernel module version is 1.0.0, but version 2.x is needed
(with 2.x >= 2.0).
[dri] Disabling DRI.

dmesg:
drm0: <Rage Mobility P/M AGP 2X> on vgapci0
info: [drm] AGP at 0x50000000 64MB
info: [drm] Initialized mach64 1.0.0 20020904

I don't know is it a dri or mach64 problem. I tried to cvsup src and ports tree from RELENG_7_0 and rebuild and reinstall kernel and reinstall xf86-video-ati port but it won't help.

Your Sincerely

Tomasz Zuzewicz
