Here is my verbose dmesg log. The repetition of 309 times of the line:

  "ata1: stat1=0x01 err=0x00 lsb=0x00 msb=0x00"

seems to be a bug. It delays the boot process. When I start X with
xinit, the following appears at the end of the log:

   The XKEYBOARD keymap compiler (xkbcomp) reports:
   > Warning: Type "ONE_LEVEL" has 1 levels, but <RALT> has 2 symbols
   > Ignoring extra symbols
   Errors from xkbcomp are not fatal to the X server

Perhaps also a bug?  By the way, in the packages in the CDs are a 
lot of scripting languages, but I miss tcl/tk (BSD licence!).
